Aloha from Maui, Hawaii.
It was a wonderful Father's Day here in the islands. It seems that travelers have slowed down due to the economy and fuel prices. A visit to Makena Beach on Maui was awesome. Huge, glassy tube waves were crashing on to the shore with amazing force. They rose up tall and crashed right down, swirling the brave boogie borders who dared to venture out. Those of us who were aching to get into that beautiful turquoise water, had to wait between sets to run in for a quick soak and run for shore to avoid getting sucked out or pounded. What fun. I warned some of the tourists about the on-shore break at this particular beach which commonly causes injuries to the unwary. It is the most gorgeous place, but must be studied to know when it is safe.
My husband and I opted to stay in the shade of a kiawe tree reading and watching the sea. It was exciting just to be there with a cool breeze blowing and the amazing beauty.
After that, we wandered on to our local spa in Japanese style to enjoy the quiet poolside, followed by showers in Japan style with fudo, waterfall shower, and a view to die for with all the open air blowing through. Ahh, total relaxation....
We slept like babies last night.
Aloha Monday, It is back to the business of life a little more refreshed.
Hope you enjoy, and visit my Hawaiian blog soon.
